Cocoa Bean Peeling Machine
The Gondor cocoa bean peeler is a professional device for peeling and separating the kernels and husks of roasted cocoa beans. It can quickly remove the brittle shells and efficiently separate the cocoa kernels (Nibs) from the husks (Husk) through a wind selection/screening system.
Cocoa peeling machine is widely used in the pretreatment stage of chocolate factories, cocoa product processing plants, specialty chocolate workshops, and cocoa powder/cocoa butter production projects, helping customers significantly improve the cleanliness of raw materials and the stability of subsequent grinding.

Advantages of Cocoa Bean Peeling Machine
1. High peeling rate
The peeling rate is generally ≥98%, and the advanced Gondor models can reach 99%. The rate of broken beans is low, and the finished product is in a uniform semi-granular form.
2. High efficiency
Apply wind power screening technology to enhance screening efficiency.
3. Friction of rubber rollers
2-3 sets of food-grade rubber rollers rotate at differential speeds, gently breaking the shells through extrusion and shearing forces without damaging the beans.
4. Energy conservation and low consumption
Our machines feature energy-saving designs and high-efficiency motors to reduce energy consumption.
5. Wind force sorting
It is equipped with an internal centrifugal fan or cyclone dust removal system to suck away the lighter bean shells and collect them centrally, keeping the workshop clean.
6. Strong adjustable adaptability
The roller gap, air volume and screen mesh can all be adjusted steplessly. It can handle cocoa beans of different varieties and particle sizes, and is also suitable for similar materials such as peanuts and coffee beans.
7. High degree of automation
It can be operated by one person and automatically complete feeding, peeling, shell and kernel separation, and residue discharge. Flexibly adjust parameters to meet diverse processing requirements
8. Hygiene and safety
The parts in contact with materials are mostly made of 304 stainless steel, which meets the hygiene standards for food machinery.
The uses of the cocoa bean peeler
The core of the Cocoa bean peeling is to remove the shells of roasted cocoa beans and efficiently separate the cocoa kernels (nibs) from the shells, providing cleaner and more stable raw materials for subsequent deep processing. Common uses include:
Peel and separate the kernel and shell
Roasted cocoa beans are crushed and air-sorted to obtain purer cocoa kernel grains (nibs), reducing the shelled rate and impurities.
Pre-treatment before chocolate production
It provides clean cocoa kernels for subsequent processes such as stone grinding, ball milling, fine grinding, and temperature adjustment, enhancing grinding efficiency, texture fineness, and flavor stability.
Cocoa liquid blocks/cocoa pulp
After the cocoa kernels are ground, they form cocoa pulp. The cleaner the peeling, the less coarse and rough the finished product will be, and the less likely it will have a shell-like or granular texture.
Purification of raw materials for cocoa butter pressing
It is used for the separation of shell kernels before cocoa kernels enter the pressing process, reducing the influence of shell impurities on the pressing efficiency and the oil filtration system, and improving the quality and stability of cocoa butter.
The front-end of cocoa powder processing
Before the cocoa slurry → pressing → cocoa cake → crushing and powdering, the shells should be separated thoroughly first. This can reduce the sources of ash and off-flavors, and enhance the purity and taste of the cocoa powder.
Recycling and reuse of cocoa bean shells
The separated bean shells can be collected separately for reuse in scenarios such as fertilizers/compost, feed additives (subject to local regulations), biomass fuel, cocoa shell tea/sachets, etc.
The working principle of cocoa beans peeler machine
As an automatic cocoa bean peeling machine, it achieves the integrated completion from “fragmentation” to “separation” in operation.
- After roasting, the cocoa beans enter the feeding system and are first broken up in a gentle and controllable crushing mechanism, causing the shells and kernels to peel off and split.
- Subsequently, the mixture enters the separation system, where it undergoes multi-stage air separation and screening. By taking advantage of the physical difference that the shells are lighter and the kernels are heavier, the light bean shells are sucked away for centralized collection, and the cocoa kernel particles are graded and output according to particle size, facilitating the next grinding/fine grinding process.
